3 hours of POST credit available for certified law enforcement officers that complete the workshop in the subjects of Environmental Law Enforcement, Tactics, and Solutions in the state of Georgia.
Workshop presented by DNR Game and Fish Officer Scott Carroll, and Keep Dalton-Whitfield Beautiful. With special thanks to the Dalton Police Department, and the Dalton-Whitfield Solid Waste Authority. The free workshop is made possible in part thanks to a grant from the Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation.
DESCRIPTION:
“Litter is a Crime” Learn how to make your community safer by taking the time to enforce Georgia’s Comprehensive Litter Prevention and Abatement Act. The Act passed during the 2006 Legislative Session makes it easier to cite someone for littering or illegal dumping and has authorized additional Courts to hear those citations. Attendees will learn how the law has changed, how aggressive litter enforcement has been used as a deterrent to additional crimes, and how to work with the Courts and others to successfully deter littering and illegal dumping.
